Most Coindeck customers must provide supporting evidence of their identity. Most customers choose to provide a current utility bill or what is called “proof of address”.

What is accepted as proof of address?
• A current utility bill (such as gas, electricity, or telephone bill) issued within the last 6 months. *A cell phone bill is not considered proof of address
• A current car or home insurance policy that shows your address.
• ANY document issued by a government department that shows your address.
• An income or property tax statement or receipt that displays your address.
• A social insurance document (that shows your address)
• A letter from your employer or licensed employment agency
• A statement, bill, or letter from a bank, building society, or credit card statement.
• Vehicle Registration Document

Items that are NOT a valid Proof of Address:
• An invoice – any invoice whether from Amazon, eBay, a moving company, or other private company are not a proof of address
• The Envelope – It is not enough to take a picture of the envelope, you must send a picture of the entire document.

If you cannot provide legal proof of address, there are several other options to support your identity verification.
• 2nd ID different from the one used in the ID section
• Birth certificate
• Residence permit
• Medical Card
• EU member ID card
• Signed letter from a person of responsibility (Lawyer, Doctor, or Policeman)
• Firearms Certificate
• Student ID
• Armed Forces ID

Reminder: By law, all banks, building societies, and other businesses providing financial services must check the identity of anyone who wants to open an account or buy any financial product/service from them. This is one of the procedures that they must undertake under the Money Laundering Regulations (which are laws) to stop criminals from using them to launder money.

The image you send must be:
• Clear and in focus
• The entire document must be in the frame (do not cut off the corners)
• The entire document must be fully visible (no fingers in the way)
• Taken with a solid background (place the document on a solid-colored surface – flowers and polka dots distract the verification software)
• Taken in a well-lit environment.
• Taken without a flash. (The flash makes light spots on the document which makes it hard to read)

The document you send must be:
• Currently valid or issued within the last 6 months
• Document must be in Latin letters or include a certified translation.
• The entire first page of the document must be completely visible
• The name on the document must match the name on your Coindeck Account. (utility bills in a family members name will not be accepted)
